Jane Brakefield

Jane joined Capstone in 2012, bringing more than 30 years of interior design experience specializing in space planning, interior finishes, furniture selection, and project coordination. Her diverse portfolio includes on-campus and off-campus student housing, corporate headquarters, financial institutions and healthcare facilities. 

Jane works closely with university partners and project teams to create environments that reflect each institution’s vision and style while enhancing the student living experience. She leads clients and stakeholders through collaborative design processes that balance aesthetics, functionality, durability, and budget considerations to deliver thoughtful and memorable spaces. 

Throughout the design process, Jane collaborates with development and architecture teams to develop interior concepts, prepare specifications and budget proposals and deliver design presentations to university housing teams. Jane coordinates furnishings procuremnt, andoversee furniture installation and project execution. Her attention to detail and strong organizational skills help ensure projects are completed seamlessly from planning through final installation. 

During her career in higher ed, Jane’s client list includes University of Alabama Birmingham, Auburn University, University of Massachusetts Boston, University of South Florida, University of Chicago, Lynn University, and the University of Southern Maine.
