Capstone Development was selected in 2010 to develop new housing on the Lock Haven University campus. Completed in 2012, the new housing community provides housing for 666 students in a mixture of private and shared bedroom suites targeted primarily to 1st and 2nd year students. The project is an important addition to Lock Haven’s inventory in that it replaces outdated housing with a new unit offering that features private bathrooms and ample common space.
The four-story brick clad building spans over 800 feet in width and is comprised of over 200,000 square feet. Each of the four floors contains common and community areas featuring conference rooms, gaming areas, common kitchen, fireplace lounge, and a community laundry facility. The building also features both wired and wireless data connectivity. The Suites is also LEED Silver Certified. Some of its LEED characteristics include rain gardens in the courtyards, spray-foam insulation, recycled materials, and low-flow fixtures.
