Looking back at 2020 we are approaching the 2021 projects differently in regards to space planning, product selections, product maintenance for materials and procurement timeframes. This includes:
- Furniture selections for amenity areas will offer flexibility in how room layouts can offer social distancing.
- Materials and finishes are being selected knowing areas will be cleaned and disinfected more frequently than prior to the pandemic.
- Furniture procurement is also being planned earlier than in the past to avoid potentially longer lead times.
COVID-19 has also affected in-person accessibility to tour property sites. Capstone Interiors has seen an increase in demand for staging unit models so marketing and management teams can create and offer virtual tours.
We are like many others in the student housing industry — pleased to have 2020 in our rearview mirror and will use what we have learned this year to move forward in 2021.
