Capstone Development Partners (CDP), (www.capdevpartners.com) managing partner of Tucson Properties has signed a lease with World of Beer (WOB) for 3,150 square feet at The Cadence, downtown Tucson’s only student housing venue. Capstone together with local developer OT Alegria and a national equity fund Kayne Anderson Real Estate, comprise Tucson Properties I, LLC as the owner and developer of The Cadence, a mixed use retail and student housing facility in downtown Tucson at Plaza Centro. The Cadence is the latest student housing development in Tucson and the only one located in downtown viewed as a promising catalyst for downtown business growth. WOB (www.wobusa.com) is a national franchise that is known for having the most extensive beer selection that appeals to a broad spectrum of beer enthusiasts. Bruce McKee, Capstone Development Partners’ Principal and The Cadence’s Project Executive states, “We are pleased to have World of Beer in The Cadence. We believe the addition of this well known franchise will be a very positive addition to downtown and will also add to the appeal of The Cadence to upper division students, which is who The Cadence was designed for. The World of Beer’s unique business model will certainly prove beneficial to area restaurants and will undoubtedly be a draw to the downtown area and quite simply a great place to hang out and enjoy your favorite beer, whatever that might be.”
The Cadence, a University of Arizona affiliated student housing development, is currently under construction and is expected to open in the fall. The development will offer contemporary, urban, apartment style living for 456 University of Arizona students. WOB is the first company to commit to leasing space at The Cadence, which has 19,000 square feet of prime downtown retail space available for lease.
With a location in Tempe, this will be World of Beer’s second location to open in the state of Arizona. WOB is expected to open at The Cadence by November 2013. John Paul Watts, World of Beer Product Manager says, “Our team is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the Tucson market and promote the evolution of craft beer. We love to create jobs and we love building our portfolio of thousands of rotating craft beers from around the world.”
