Since joining Capstone in 2003, Walker has played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s nationally recognized student housing platform, leading the development of more than 10,000 beds across a diverse portfolio of on-campus communities and mixed-use district developments. With more than two decades of experience, he has overseen complex projects from initial concept through delivery, helping universities create vibrant living-learning environments that enhance the student experience and support broader campus goals.

As the Birmingham office leader of Capstone’s on-campus development management team, Walker provides strategic direction throughout every phase of the development process, including planning, stakeholder engagement, design coordination, budgeting, contract / governing agreement negotiation, construction oversight, and project delivery. He is recognized for his collaborative leadership style and his ability to bring together university leaders, architects, contractors, consultants, and campus stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Walker’s university, design, and construction partners consistently value his hands-on approach, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. He carefully monitors project schedules and budgets while balancing the priorities of surrounding campus communities and institutional stakeholders.
