DESCRIPTION

Mines Park, an existing upper-division on-campus residential community at Colorado School of Mines, is getting a refresh to better meet the needs of the Mines community for years to come. In a public-private partnership with Capstone Development Partners, Colorado School of Mines will transform the Mines Park of today into a unique and sustainable residential village. Once complete in Fall 2025, the reinvigorated Mines Park will be home to:

  • More than 650 new and 400 renovated student spaces (almost double the number of current spaces), providing a mix of studio and 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom apartments for upper-division undergraduate and graduate students and student families
  • More robust common spaces, including new community and recreation spaces, small and group study spaces, outdoor gathering spaces and a renovated Community Center #2
  • More sustainable building practices and operations to better reflect Mines’ unique commitment to the earth, energy and environment, including all-electric and efficient building systems

Renovations began in July 2023 and demolition of existing structures to make way for new buildings begin in November 2023. The project is a phased delivery schedule with the renovations to be complete by 2024 and new construction to be complete by Fall 2025.

This project is university-financed and Capstone Management Partners is providing management and operations services for Mines Park.
