Capstone partnered with the University of Missouri Kansas City to open the Oak Street Hall student housing community in 2004. Upon opening, Oak Street Hall increased the availability of housing on the campus by nearly 55 percent. This four-story courtyard community provides over 560 beds of housing in two person, shared suite living units, with semi-private baths. The community is organized into 50-person living – learning communities, and has become the “destination” for UMKC students. Popular elements include community kitchens, lounges, recreation areas, built-in electronic and cable television capabilities, and living and learning environments that bring together students with similar academic interests.
