M @ College is a new student housing development consisting of 367 beds designed to serve sophomores and other upper division San Diego State University students. SDSU will utilize this project to expand their housing offerings to underserved student populations including sophomores and transfer students. M @ College supports the objectives of a local redevelopment program focused to minimize student dispersal into established family neighborhoods and create a mixed-use activity center along College Avenue and develop a strong pedestrian character so that walking, biking and the use of transit is encouraged.
The new residential community caters to students who value a highly amenitized, live-learn environment built around a pedestrian and bicycle friendly environment. The project incorporates many sustainable design features following the LEED for Homes Mid-rise checklist and is designed to obtain a LEED Silver Certification. It also integrates Cal Green and Title 24 standards. The Capstone team broke ground on Project in Spring 2017 and the building was competed and opened for student move-in by Fall 2018.
