In 2002, the University of Redlands selected Capstone Development to design/build develop 200 new beds of apartment style housing in efforts to the help the University keep up with their growing campus and modernize their housing stock. Given its proximity to a neighborhood, the new 2-story apartment community was designed to be compatible with neighboring single-family residences. The character of the architecture is based on the Bungalow style homes found in both Redlands and the greater Pasadena area. This regional architectural style reflects an appropriate response to the local climate with large overhangs for shade and an open relationship between interior and exterior spaces. The new housing was completed in 2003.
